Center (formerly Birthright) in Portland . The Center protects our
deepest Catholic belief in the dignity and sacredness of life….”It is the right
of every pregnant woman to give birth and the right of every child to be
born” .St. Philip Benizi has always strongly supported Birthright and its
Mother’s Day Carnation Sale. Let us continue to do so. Carnations
are only $1.00 each and will be available after all Masses on Mother’s Day
weekend!

Next Sunday, our parish will be taking up a collection for the Catholic
Home Missions Appeal. This Appeal supports missions here in the
United States . The Catholic Home Missions Appeal offers
Catholics across our country a wonderful opportunity to help fellow Catholic
practice their faith in such rugged areas as Alaska , Appalachia, the deep
South, the Rocky Mountain states, the Southwest, Puerto Rico and island
dioceses in the Pacific and Caribbean . Please give generously to assist
fellow Catholics here in America . It’s one practical way our parish
community can be good stewards of God’s gifts and make a difference.

PRO-LIFE NEWS: Before we know it, there will be another 40 Days
for Life campaign. In order to prepare for the success of this
September event, would you be willing to pray a “Rosary for Life”, twice a
month? You wouldn’t even need to leave your house! KBVM (88.3)
radio prays the rosary each evening at 7 PM. We could pray for
the unborn and for healing and forgiveness for women who've had abortions the
2nd and 4th Sunday of each month up until
September and
beyond! Prayer is the key to this issue.
So MARK YOUR CALENDARS
AND THANKS IN ADVANCE!
